Dhar trounce Delhi 6-1

DELHI SUFFERED two consecutive defeats on Thursday in the central zone inter-SAI girls’ hockey tournament being played at SAI Centre, Bishenkheri.

Playing against Dhar in the first match, the Delhi team failed in every department of the game. Dhar registered a comfortable 6-1 win. It was the second big win for Dhar after defeating Allahabad on Wednesday with the same score.

However, Dhar had to wait for 27 minutes to open the account in the match against Delhi. In the last game against Allahabad, Dhar players were charged up after the first goal. This could be gauged from the fact that the after the first goal in the 27th minute, Dhar team scored two more goals in quick succession. Reema scored her first hat-trick of the tournament.

The team maintained the rhythm in the second half and scored three goals. Dhar won the match 6-1. Playing the second match in the evening, the Delhi team failed to conquer the problem of lack of coordination as the team lost the match 0-3 against Allahabad. This was the first win for Allahabad in the tournament. Garima and Kavita scored two and one goal respectively.
