7 semifinalists selected
ST MARY Champion, Emerald Heights, St Raphael’s and Queen’s College entered the semifinals in the girls’ category at the inter-school volleyball tournament being played at the Auckland Academy. In the boys’ category, New City Convent, RRMB Gujarati School and Bharatiya Sanskriti Sanstha have entered the semifinals and the fourth team will be the winning side at the match played between Saifi School and Swami Pritamdas Govindram Academy.
Choithram sports meet concludes
THE THIRD athletics meet at the Choithram School North Campus concluded on Friday. Choithram International principal H G Pant, Choithram School principal S Mukherji and Choithram School trustee S Motiyani were present on the occasion. School principal Rajesh Awasthi and others welcomed the guests. Students Aastha Sharma, Anurag Pariwal, Nimisha Chourasia, Murtaza Malik were felicitated at the meet.
Court rejects appeal
THE COURT of Additional District Judge R K Joshi has rejected the appeal in the case of resumption orders issued by the Defence Estates Officer (DEO) of Mhow. Advocate B M Masani filed a petition challenging the resumption orders in the court of Second Class Judicial Magistrate P C Gupta on behalf of Rakesh Virmani of Bungalow No 6. The court rejected the appeal. Later, another appeal was filed in the court of Additional District Judge R K Joshi that also was rejected after hearing the arguments of the advocate of the Government of India Mohanlal Sharma.
TT finals today
MANOJ KAUSHAL will face Rahul Choube in the men’s final of third ranking tournament organised by the Indore District Table Tennis Association. Kamini Parmar and Nidhi Agarwal will play the women’s final. The finals will be played at the Siddharth Soni Sports Academy on Saturday. In the semifinal, Manoj defeated Gautam Soni 11-8, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7. In the second semifinal, Rahul Choube defeated Rajendra Shrivastava 11-5, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8. In the women’s semifinals, Kamini defeated Mohini Parmar 11-8, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8 and Nidhi Agarwal beat Ravleen Khanuja 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9.
