Dhumal slams HP govt for banning Ramdev’s entry

india Updated: Feb 21, 2013 17:57 IST

While dubbing the decision of the state government to ban the entry of yoga guru Ramdev in Himachal Pradesh and to cancel allotment of land to him, former chief minister and BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal said the Congress government was working on revenge and taking undemocratic decisions.

Talking to HT here on Thursday, he said that the state government did not adopt the proper procedure while cancelling the allotment of land to Ramdev. In fact, it was given on 99 years lease after the completion of all formalities and payment from him. He said the development was a continuous process and such actions which wanted to stall the progress of state were uncalled for and against the constitution.

Dhumal said that under the agreement, the yogpeeth was to work for extraction of 15 herbs and to purchase cow milk and cow dung from farmers of the state in order to strengthen the economy of the state.

He said that the decision of state government would harm the cause of the people and must to be withdrawn. Dhumal was pained to say that it was Virbhadra Singh who had invited Ramdev to Hamirpur to organize a Yoga function and had promised all help to set up Yoga centers. However, it was not understood, why he forgot those promises so early.
