The liplock of Rakhi Sawant and Kainaaz at the premiere of Khamosh - Khauff Ki Raat last year was the talk-of-the-town. Kainaaz, who says that Rakhi loves to be known as the controversy queen, says: “She’ll go to any extent to grab media attention.”
She says, “The Khamosh kiss was also a PR gimmick initiated by Rakhi and there is a possibility that she planned the controversy between her and Mika, though I do not know the facts.” Though Rakhi made her entry in tinseltown seven years ago, she has only been part of 14 movies.
Despite that, she has consistently been in the news due to her “bold” quotes, revealing pictures and her appearance in remix videos which the I & B ministry deems “objectionable.” Her allegation that pop singer Mika kissed her forcibly at his birthday bash is only the latest in a long line of controversies.
Mika, on his part, says he has not done anything wrong and will not ask for forgiveness. “I’ve been around for the last seven years on the music scene and there is not one controversy around me, while Rakhi has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. I’m sure she is trying to get publicity,” he says.
“There were many girls at my party – Mink Brar, Shefali Zariwala, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anupama Verma - ask them if I misbehaved with them. It was just a normal kiss and she has made a con troversy of it” he says, adding: “I’m ready to fight.” Actress-producer Mink Brar who was present and claims to have witnessed the episode calls it “a filmy scene”.
“Rakhi was in a joyful mood. She even said ‘I love you Mika’ on the mike and kissed him a couple of times. Rakhi tried to put cake on Mika’s face and he kissed her.” However, as the photos show, this is not the “harmless” kiss that Rakhi objected to. It is the kiss on the dance floor that followed, which was on the mouth and shows Rakhi trying to free herself. Are Mika and his camp using Rakhi’s reputation as a publicity seeker against her and to discredit her claim of her dignity being violated?
Mink goes on to allege that while Rakhi “left the party hurriedly,” she was “cool and calm when she was leaving and also said bye to everyone nicely.” She continues: “To our surprise, she came back around 2.30 am with the media and started abusing Mika. All of us were zapped to see her reacting like this. Two minutes later, cops also came in. DJ Shezwood and Rakhi’s boyfriend were drunk. Mika requested her to calm down and not spoil the party but when he realised she won’t stop, he asked all of us to leave the party. I’m not aware what happened later.” The question remains: Is Rakhi vamp or victim?
