AFTER HECTIC discussion between saffron brigade leaders and the RSS volunteers, the name of mayoral candidates for the BJP was almost finalised on Thursday evening.
Anju Chaudhary who was the proposed name of Yogi Adityanath would file her nomination papers on last day. It was to be note that serious differences cropped up between RSS and BJP office bearers over the selection of mayoral post.
BJP leaders had demanded that the mayoral candidates should be selected from the panel proposed by the district unit of the party, whereas Anju Chaudhary’s name was missing from the panel. However, she was enjoying strong support of Gorakhnath temple and Yogi Adityatanath and finally she managed to get the BJP ticket.
In a meeting, Adityanath tried to pacify the anger of activists appealed them to sing their differences.
The BJP corporations were displeased as Hindu Vahini candidates shared around 50 tickets for the corporators while BJP candidates could got only 20 tickets in different wards.
