FORMER CHIEF minister Digvijay Singh on Wednesday accused the State government of having failed to deliver the goods. Describing the BJP government as a puppet of the RSS, he told newpersons in Bhind circuit house that the State government had not done anything substantial and was showcasing only the previous Congress government’s achievements as its own.

Singh said if BJP lost the by-elections, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be shown door by the BJP as it had done with Uma Bharati.

He further said that people were fed up with BJP government and were ready to dislodge it. Commenting on the statements of former defense minister George Fernandes that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was behind Tehelka sting operation and President APJ Abdul Kalam had advised the then government to buy Barak missile, Singh said  if George has any proof he should make it public.

In reply to a question as to whether government employees should be allowed to participate in RSS shakhas, he said ‘let it first be decided that RSS was a non-political organisation.

On Afzal Guru’s clemency petition, he said congress favoured sticking to punishment awarded under due process of law.  Singh participated in a protest demonstration to highlight the ‘failures’ of the State government.
