Hockey India on Tuesday announced a 23-member squad for a month-long tour of Europe. The notable exclusion from the Sandeep Singh-led squad is former captain Dilip Tirkey.
"The team is almost unchanged from the Asia Cup, with only Dilip Tirkey missing, down with an ankle injury," said Zafar Iqbal, member, selection committee.
The 25-day tour will be the first opportunity for chief national coach Jose Brasa to test his wards in match situations and evaluate their grasp of his new system of play.
India will play four tests against England from July 27 to August 2 in Birmingham, three tests against Belgium in Antwerp from August 4-7, three against Spain in Terassa (Aug 9-12) and two tests against Holland in Amstelveen (Aug 14-16).
