DINDORI ADDITIONAL SP Ashish Meshram and his wife Madhuri sustained burn injuries under suspicious circumstances late Saturday night. The condition of Madhuri is stated to be critical.
The Dindori police haven’t yet begun the investigation into incident saying the house of Additional SP was locked. The incident occurred after the police officer, his wife and their two kids returned home from the annual function of a school.
Ashish and his wife were rushed to Mahakoshal hospital in Jabalpur from the Dindori Government Hospital. Madhuri sustained 75 per cent burn injuries and the police officer received some injuries on hand and feet.
A doctor in the Mahakoshal hospital said they informed the Madan Mahal Police of Jabalpur. Madan Mahal police station in charge Inspector Satish Mehra said the hospital informed them around 6.30 am on Sunday. I sent an ASI but he couldn’t record the statement of Madhuri as she was in a critical condition. Asked whether the police recorded the statement of Addl. SP, he said they had not. We don’t know the whereabouts of the kids, he said.
About the cause of the incident, he said it could be known by seeing the spot. Sub Division Officer of Police Dindori Rajendra Singh Thakur said investigation could not begin. The police could not inspect the house as it was locked, he added. Dindori SP AS Choudhary is out of station for well over a week.
