THE MADHYA Pradesh Diploma Engineers Association would observe a one-day statewide token strike on October 11 to press the State Government to concede to their demands.
The association’s State president Rajendra Singh Bhadoria said in a statement that their demands included payment of executive engineer’s pay scale (10,000-15,200) to diploma engineers on their completing 24 years in service, merging of 50 per cent DA with their basic salary, payment of their DA arrears, and appointment of their wards on compassionate ground.
Bhadoria said their demand for enhanced salary had been pending before the government for the last seven years. The then chief minister Babulal Gaur and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had assured to
give them the said pay scale but nothing had moved so far in this direction, he added.
He said the sub-engineers of various technical departments would stage demonstrations at their respective district headquarters besides observing strike on October 11. They would later submit a memorandum to the Collectors or Commissioner.
