The Disney Channel today launched
Dhoom Machaao Dhoom
, its second major serial produced in the country, to give a local touch and flavour to its programming.
This will also be its first original daily show for teens.
"Following the success of the first local production Vicky Aur Vetaal earlier this year, Disney seeks to further strengthen its connection with children and their families with this cool and contemporary show," Nachiket Pantvaidya, Walt Disney Television International (India)'s executive director, told reporters here.
Dhoom Machaao Dhoom will premiere shortly, taking the number of hours of locally produced content on Disney Channel to 30 a week, he said.
The new serial will portray the story of four young girls who team up against all odds to form a band, reflecting the tastes, preferences and challenges before children of the current generation.
The show will be aired at 7.30 pm from Monday to Thursday, starting in January.
Its music has been composed by Shantanu Moitra and features Shreya Ghosal. The pilot episode includes a special performance by Sanchita, the winner of Zee TV's Lil' Champ contest.
