Divisional commissioner assesses relief measures for flood victims in J&K

Jammu divisional commissioner Shantmanu convened a meeting of senior officers to review the relief measures being taken up for the flood victims.

The meeting was attended by DDC Jammu, AK Sahu, besides other concerned officers.

It was informed in the meeting that food packages, water bottles and other relief material is being dispatched to Kashmir and coordinated efforts are being made to ensure that information is provided to the families of the rescued people in Jammu.

The DC informed that a relief cell for Kashmir division had been set up in the office of General Manager Jammu Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) with its nodal officer.

It was also informed that JKTDC and PCR will coordinate to collect and disseminate information pertaining to the rescued persons. The tourism department has also been directed to made adequate arrangements of boarding and lodging for those rescued to Jammu.

The DC appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration to tackle with the situation arisen due to heavy rains and floods.
