From major upsets to the emergence of new stars on the tennis horizon -- what an action-packed fortnight we've had! We have witnessed some scintillating exhibition of pure action. Out of the blue, we have been blessed to see a new star in Tsonga. First, the Nadal Tsonga semi-final match. The Frenchman trounced one of this year's favourites Rafal Nadal in straight sets, declaring to the world that men's tennis was no longer a Nadal-Federer phenomenon. Tsonga delighted us with his sublime ground strokes and skillful passing shots. Then, the final showdown -- seeing Djokovic demolishing King Federer was pure delight and entertainment for the fans. This year's first Grand Slam promises that the scene on men's tennis will no longer be more be a defeat-Federer-attempt. The finals answered the question we posed on the first day.
On the women's scene, the Serbian force lived up to their expectation though no one could stop the onslaught of Sharapova in her newfound form. There was always the challenge from the Williams sisters. We hope women's tennis also stays an exciting draw like the one we witnessed last two weeks. We hope you have enjoyed the coverage with us. We will be back with the French Open in May.
