Residents of DLF City part 2, 3 and DLF Cybercity have demanded exemption in toll tax on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
This comes after residents of 41 villages, whose land was acquired to construct the 27.7-km-long stretch, were exempted from paying toll tax as per the agreement between the concessionaire firm DSC Limited and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
On Saturday, Sunder Singh, councillor from ward No. 35, urged NHAI chairman AK Upadhyay to exempt the residents of his ward, including DLF City part 2 and 3, from paying tax on the expressway.
"The residents of these localities deserve the same treatment as being given to those living in villages around the toll plazas," he added.
Residents of 10 villages around Delhi border toll plaza and 31 villages around Kherki Daula toll plaza are exempted from paying tax on the expressway and they can use the link road by simply producing an ID proof.
