Docs suspended for molesting nurses during Holi

Three doctors of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation-run VS Hospital have been suspended for a year for allegedly molesting hospital nurses during Holi revelery, an official statement said on Monday.

Three doctors of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation-run (AMC) VS Hospital have been suspended for a year for allegedly molesting hospital nurses during Holi revelery, an official statement said on Monday.

Other 25 medicos were also suspended for three months for the same offence, the statement said.

According to the hospital authorities these doctors had allegedly molested nurses on duty in the gynaecology department of the hospital on March 11 during the Holi revelery.

The nurses had complained to the hosptial authorities who constituted an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of AMC Commissioner I P Gautam to probe the incident.

The committee found that three persons Dr Jaydut Tekani of Medical unit, Dr Prakash Patel of Surgical unit and Dr Rajesh Punhari of Pediatric Surgical unit, had led 25 other doctors of the hospital and were prinurses had complained to the‘Dmarily responsible for the incident.

The committee has suspended the trio for one year, while 25 other doctors who were part of the mob which were also allegedly involved in outraging the modesty of the nurses, have been suspended for three months, the release added.
