A doctor has alleged that he was beaten up by a relative of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his men over a trivial issue of vehicle parking.

Pawan Pratap Singh, a state government doctor, said he had parked his car on Monday evening near the house of Mulayam's brother-in-law Ajant Singh Yadav in the Friends Colony area.

Angry over it, Yadav, along with some other persons, not only beat him but also damaged his vehicle and broke its window panes, the doctor alleged.

Singh also alleged that the police was not registering his complaint over the matter, a charge refuted by officials. Station house officer (SHO), Civil Lines police station, DK Sisodia said they have not received any complaint in this regard.

The SP is in power in Uttar Pradesh and Mulayam's son Akhilesh Yadav is the chief minister of the state. Earlier too, Mulayam's family had been embroiled in similar incidents of displaying political clout and arrogance.

In February this year, the son of the brother-in-law of Mulayam Singh had allegedly assaulted his teacher in Amity University. Abhinav, a student of LLB in the university, allegedly slapped lecturer Archana Shukla, as she had deducted marks in one of the exams.

Though an FIR was lodged and the student suspended from the univeristy, police allegedly did not take any action.

Abhinav's father Pramod Gupta is the Samajwadi Party MLA from Bidhuna seat in Auraiya district.
