A 40-year-old doctor fell down from a hospital complex and died under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday afternoon. Police claim the victim was suffering from behavioral disorder and had committed suicide. His family members, on the other hand, said he was murdered.
Dr Ashok Naagar was found dead at the back side of the hospital complex and his body was later sent for post-mortem. According to police, the victim jumped off from a 30-40 feet high building.
“He committed suicide due to health conditions. His five major joints were fractured and due to the impact, his internal skeleton areas got badly damaged. He had also written a note about his behavioral problem some time back,” superintendent of police (SP) SS Yadav said.
But the victim’s family alleged there were no major injuries on the victim’s body and there had been no bleeding when they examined the body after post-mortem.
“It seems someone pushed him from the top floor. We did not know about his being under any psychiatric treatment. How can a person be allowed to work when he is under such a treatment? We will lodge an FIR soon,” said Om Prakash, the victim’s cousin.
Naagar was posted as an associate professor at the anesthesia department of the hospital for the past 9-10 years and was a resident of Rajinder Nagar in Sahibabad.
