As part of its awareness programme, the disaster management authority will show short documentaries in various movie theatres in the city to educate people about how to prevent losses if a disaster takes place.
Documentaries will be screened in multiplexes at the beginning or during interval of a movie show.
The programme also includes distribution of informative materials such as leaflets, pasting of posters and holding essay and drawing competitions involving different group of people to train them in disaster management techniques.
“There will be five things included in the awareness programme ranging from leaflets, poster, and booklets to documentaries and essay and drawing competitions. We have asked the state public relations department to prepare script and make documentary for us. We will provide other facilities but scripting and shooting will be done by them,” AK Shrivastava, head of the National Institute of Disaster Management, said.
Leaflets have already been designed to demonstrate various disaster management techniques, showing examples of fire, earthquake and flood. A separate leaflet has been made to encourage proper utilisation of water and how to save the resources.
