Dining ambience is directly proportional to appetite. In a well decorated dining area, you do tend to eat well. “Dining room should be an eclectic mix of tradition and modernity. Add colour and texture to remodel simple spaces,” says Siddhant Lamba, owner, Strot.
“If the dinning area is a large with a glazing glass then a coffee table along with two chairs can be added to the layout,” suggests Punam Kalra, owner, I’m Centre for Applied Arts. While wooden flooring adds warmth to space, wood panelling on the walls can be done for continuity and visual connect,” she adds.
“A dining console is a must to store the crockery well. A mirror over the dining console can create the illusion of space,” says Nupur Gupta of Alchemy. Chandeliers over the table make the space look glamourous. “Lighting should be controlled with a dimmer. Whether it is a cosy get together for friends, intimate dining, family dinners or lunches, or a simply Sunday brunch, chandeliers work in every setting,” adds Lamba. A big standing lamp can be the focal element in this area. “A painting or a sculpture can add exquisiteness,” says Kalra.
