People should not sell their vote and vote for the right candidate who can take the country forward, former Advisor to the Election Commission K G Rao said on Tuesday.
"You should not to sell your vote but vote for the right candidate," said on the sidelines of a function here.
"We are here to make you aware about your rights -- your right to vote and your right to raise your voice against corrupt practices followed in the society," Rao said, at a briefing organised by National Alliance of People's Movements here.
"Politicians will come to your locality every day and try to influence you through their poll manifesto. Do not believe in them. Before choosing a leader, check his profile," Rao said.
NAPM, along with other NGOs, has launched a programme to make voters choose the right people's representative who can resolve their problems.
