Three films of different genres —Vikram Kumar’s supernatural thriller 13B, Umesh Shukla’s comedy Dhoondte Reh Jaoge and Manish Gupta’s socially-conscious Karma aur Holi — met with common results. None of them clicked. Actually the dull opening didn’t come as a surprise since cricket matches between India and New Zealand are more popular.. plus, it’s also examination period.
The best of the bad lot, 13B, blended with good promotion and publicity, drew opening collections of about 20 to 25 per cent. The evening shows were a little better as were the film’s Sunday collections. Even though the R Madhavan-starrer is getting good feedback from the audiences, tradewallahs are not sure about its future.
As for Dhoondte Reh Jaoge and Karma aur Holi, these fetched just about 10 to 15 per cent collections at most multiplexes.
Dhoondte Reh Jaoge fared better in some areas though. There’s no hope for any of these two.. in fact, the collections are expected to plunge further during the weekdays.
Both of last week’s releases, Kisse Pyaar Karoon? and Siddharth — the Prisoner, bombed badly.. as expected. The collection of Delhi 6 dropped further in its second week.
