We spend a third of our life asleep, or four months a year in bed. This fact alone makes the bedroom very important, because Ch'i affects us weather we are conscious of it or not. If the Ch'i flow is not correct, our bodily Ch'i will suffer as a result and this could lead to number of health problems.
The bedroom, being the place where we sleep, is also a personal refuge. It is the place where we most commonly enjoy sexual relationships and feel truly liberated and free to do whatever we like.
By applying the principles of Feng Shui to the bedroom, lives can improve drastically. Children can experience a greater sense of well- being and security. Adults can enjoy better sex lives and also focus better in their business and social lives.
Adolescents can achieve a higher level of success in academic studies and examinations.
Position of bedroom
The best position for the main bedroom is farthest from the main door, preferably diagonally opposite the entrance. On a subliminal level, this gives you a feeling of protection, stability and security.
The worst possible scenario is to have your bedroom facing or near to the front door. If you have an adjacent toilet, always make sure that the door is closed. A bedroom over a garage is a ‘no - no' in Feng Shui as the dead space below indicates lack of support.
Position of bed
Feng Shui helps you to keep healthy and fit by sleeping with your head pointing at your personal Tien - Yi direction according to your Kua Number. (Contact : Feng Shui consultant for your Kua number and Tien Yi - direction).
The most significant feature of the bedroom is the bed itself. Consider the position of the bed relative to the door. Avoid a situation where the door opens directly on to your bed. Try to position your bed as far from the door as possible, but at the same time you should have a good view of it from where you sleep.
To bring stability to your relationship, make sure that the bed itself is stable. Also make sure that bed has good strong headboard to protect your Ch'i while you are asleep, and also avoid sleeping with your head facing the window, else this will drain away your Ch'i .
Sleeping directly on the floor is not ideal as it does not allow the Ch'i to circulate.
Mirror in the bedroom can also be a Feng Shui nightmare. You should avoid ones that can reflect your image while you are asleep, as this can also drain you. Full length mirror can be concealed inside the wardrobe to avoid problems. South West Corner Southwest sector of your bedroom relates to relationship. A happy photograph of you and your partner and any kind of symbolism of relationship is ideal.
On waking up in the morning, you can be greatly motivated if you are greeted by a photograph, poster or painting on the wall. It needs to be an image that is tranquil and uplifting and epitomises your journey in life.
Think of a special, inspiring landscape. Every morning we wake up with new possibilities - the image in front of you should reflect this, while a blank wall or an image of struggle might have adverse effects.
