A Delhi Public School teacher here has been booked for allegedly molesting girl students after parents of one of the students registered a complaint with the school principal.

An FIR against Math teacher Nagendra Singh was filed on Wednesday by Principal Seema Bhatnagar after parents of a 16-year-old student gave a written complaint against him.

"It was alleged in the FIR that the teacher was teasing and molesting some girls," Investigating Officer Mohesh Chaudhary said, adding, he also used to send objectionable messages to them on social networking site Facebook.

He said that the matter was being investigated and no arrest has been made so far.

The case was registered with Bhankrota Police Station under section 354-A (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of Indian Penal Code, section 66 of IT Act (sending offensive messages through communication service), and section 12 of POCSO Act (sexual harassment of the child).

When contacted, the school administration refused to divulge details saying the facts will come up during the police investigation.
