KGMU HAS expelled Dr RK Gupta, a junior resident (III) after he was found guilty of violence and arson that took place on January 12 and also for submitting fake documents while seeking admission in the MBBS course. KGMU authorities made the announcement on Monday. Vice-chancellor Mahendra Bhandari said, “Out of three charges two charges were found to be true. Submission of fake document is a big crime.”

The inquiry revealed that while seeking admission in 1992, Gupta submitted a fake scheduled caste certificate. According to KGMU top brass, this is a “violation of law” and is a “serious offence.” Hence his admission in the PG course now stands cancel. Dr Gupta who later took admission in MS in 2003 also stands cancel. The erring doctor was also found guilty of misbehaving with few teachers as well.

KGMU even issued a show cause notice to him but Gupta did not respond properly to that letter. The inquiry also revealed that huge transaction was made from his bank account. The economic office wing of the State police arrested him last week. The university also gave him an opportunity to give argument in his own defence. But Gupta did not respond properly following which KGMU resolved to expel him.
