Drugs worth Rs 9 crore seized in Goa

Goa Police have arrested an Italian national and seized drugs worth Rs 9 crore from him at Anjuna, around 20 kms away from Panaji.

The staff of Anti Narcotic Cell Police Station, Panaji conducted a raid at Anjuna last night and caught red-handed the accused Vincenzo Rainone (54), an Italian National, for possessing LSD blotter paper and 4.7 grams of LSD liquid at his residence, police said in a statement.

"The value of the seized drug is Rs 9 crore. This is one of the major seizure of LSD blotter papers in Goa," it said adding that the accused has been visiting Goa on business and tourist visas since the last 14 years. The arrested accused shall be produced in a court for remand tomorrow, police said.
