The CCTV footage sourced by Hindustan Times from Prison Bar in Sahara Mall, where 10 bouncers were booked for allegedly assaulting two customers on Thursday night, shows how it all started.
It is clearly seen that the two men attacked the bar manager first and that prompted the bouncers to thrash them.
The bar owners too claim that the altercation began around 1am after the men misbehaved with an Afghani couple who were dancing.
On the other hand, Manoj Yadav, 24, got operated on Friday for a fracture in his hand. His version of the story is that the bar staff assaulted them without provocation.
“They started hitting us without any reason and we were thrown out. I was enjoying with my friends and we did not misbehave with anyone. It has become a habit for bouncers to fight and create a scene.”
Yadav, a resident of Wazirabad village, had gone to Prison Bar along with five friends.
A bar staff member said, “The VIP lounge was reserved for the boys and one of them misbehaved with an Afghani couple dancing on the floor. Manager Lalit Kadian requested the group to move out of the bar but they took it as an insult and started abusing us all.”
Kadian said, “I requested them not to use abusive language but they were completely drunk and were threatening to shoot. With the help of bouncers, I sent them back but within a few seconds, they came back and pushed my head on the table with full force. They attacked me and my staff. For our own protection we had to defend ourselves or they could have called more villagers and the situation would have gone out of hand.”
Bouncers Ashish Singh and Sunder Tanwar said, “Many a times, people come and do not even pay bills and misbehave with girls. How can we sit quietly and watch them hit our manager.” A case has been registered against the bar owner and bouncers on charges of assaulting the youths.
