The Gurgaon police have arrested a Delhi University (DU) MBA student for allegedly fleecing a person by making false promises of getting a job in Bengaluru.
Vidyut Kesh Panda (22) allegedly conned Amit Kumar, a resident of Sector 31, Gurgaon, by taking Rs 2.90 lakh from him.
According to the police, Kumar was desperately looking for a job and Panda tracked him on the Internet. They first exchanged a few mails and had telephonic conversations in which Panda allegedly made promises of getting him a job as a software developer in Bengaluru.
Kumar claimed that in April this year Panda met him and allegedly asked for Rs 70,000 as the first installment for securing him a job. In May, Panda took him to Bengaluru for a week. There he managed to stage a few false telephonic interviews for Kumar and made him believe that he had got the job and they both came back to Delhi.
Panda allegedly made Kumar transfer rest of the amount into his account and then vanished.
