Digital lifestyle products website Letsbuy.com looked at its sales over six months to come up with prevailing online buying trends:

a) Tech savvy housewives are opting for online bargain offers to equip their kitchens.

b) Dearth of reliable offline vendors draws gamers to e-commerce. Letsbuy has witnessed 1000% growth in sales.

c) People are buying tablets briskly through e-commerce sites. Letsbuy has seen a 400% growth in this.

d) Consumers are buying portable hard drives complementing TVs/LCDs/LEDs as digital media libraries, replacing DVD and Blu-Ray players.

Hitesh Dhingra, co-founder and CEO, Letsbuy.com, said, “With connectivity, gadget awareness and aspirational lifestyles, housewives have taken to e-buying in a big way. They are buying microwaves, induction cook tops, water purifiers, electric choppers, food processors and toasters. Cash on delivery has been a catalyst.”

On portable hard drive sales, he said that with brands such as Western Digital, iGate, Seagate launching sleek, pocket-sized, powerful hard drives, consumers are embracing this smart option.
