Top Election Commission officials will visit Bangalore on April 29 to review the preparations for the ensuing Karnataka polls to be held next month.
The delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami, Election Commissioners S Y Qureishi and Naveen Chawla will hold meetings with political leaders, election observers and senior police officials, Karnataka Election Commission Chief M N Vidyashankar said.
He said service providers would be approached to get expenditure incurred on sending SMSs and voice-mails through cell phones so that it can be billed to individual candidates poll expense.
As many as 550 criminal cases have been filed in connection with violation of model code of conduct in the State, which goes to polls in three phases on May 10, 16 and 22, Vidyashankar said.
"State Election commission held a high level meeting with senior police offices today to review the poll preparedness," EC officials said.
