ABHINAV PANDEY and Ananya Kashyap from Delhi Public School, Aishwarya Saxena and Zubin Pahuja from Shishukunj International and Abhas Jain and Aditi Phatak from Satya Sai Vidya Vihar qualified for the regional live round of national level Eicher Skyline Quiz Contest-07.

Students from about 50 schools appeared for the written test round in the live quizzing challenge held at St Paul School on Friday. Quiz coordinator Vatsala Jhonny said that schools from the nearby regions participated in the regional round held for selecting participants from the State level.

St Joseph Convent School (Ratlam) and St Raphael’s School (Indore) emerged as stand-by teams. Quizmaster Professor Amiya Pahare said that 25 straight-answer questions were to be answered by the students. The marks were given out of 50 and there was no negative marking. The time limit was one minute/question.

The selected teams will participate in the regional live contest to be held for the western region at Ahmedabad on November 21. A similar exercise for the south region would be held in Cochin on November 28, that for the east region at Kolkata on December 6 and those from the north region would participate in the regional round at Chandigarh on December 12.

St Paul School quiz secretary Shyama Basu said that the school was an associate of the Eicher group in hosting cultural and other events. The school has been continuously hosting the live regional qualifier rounds of the quiz competition from the past eight years.

In 2000-01 the team from St Paul had qualified for the regional round. The competition has seen an increase from 30 schools last year to about 50 schools this year.
