EMERALD HEIGHTS International School girls emerged winners of the CBSE cluster basketball tournament, while the boys of the same school finished as runners-up. The tournament was held in Dhamnod recently.
Emerald Heights girls defeated Daly College by 20-11 in the final. However, the boys had to be satisfied with the second position. Somaya Choudhry won the ‘best player’ award in girls’ category.
Sathya Sai student excels in skating
SRI SATHYA Sai Vidya Vihar student Mehak Agarwal won the third position in three events in the recently concluded CBSE west zone interschool skating held at Gwalior. Mehak won the third position in rink race. He also won the first, second and third position in road race in the under-8 category.
Choithram School students shine
CHOITHRAM SCHOOL won the overall championship in the interschool chess tournament organised by Maharishi Vidya Mandir. Progressive Education won the ‘best disciplined team’ award, while the ‘best participant team’ award was won by Narmada Valley School Badwah. The ‘best player’ award was won by ILVA School.
Choithram School won the boys’ under-10, under-15 and under-19 events to win the overall championship. Former minister Tulsi Silawat distributed prizes to the winners.
Young Brothers players in State team
ARVIND YADAV and Arvind Daghbodia of Young Brothers Club, Mhow have been selected in the Madhya Pradesh senior football team that will take part in the Santhosh Trophy national football tournament.
INTER-COLLEGEATE volleyball tournament organised by Rishi Raj Singh Institute of Technology in memory of Rishi Raj Singh Kir will be held from September 19 to 21. Interested colleges may contact sports officer Nilesh Mandloi.
PWD MINISTER Kailash Vijayavergiya inaugurated the State-level interschool sports competition at Sarafa Vidya Niketan in the City on Friday. More than 700 students from various divisions are taking part in the mega event. Swimming, diving, water polo, roller-skating and roller hockey will take place in various grounds.
