THE BHOPAL Municipal Corporation squad on Tuesday removed about 200 small structures from an area around the Railway Station, where the road widening work is in progress.
The BMC squad today carried out anti-encroachment drive outside platform No 1 one and 5 at the main railway station. These encroachments were hampering the road-widening work.
The BMC has been carrying out developmental work worth Rs 1 crore outside platform No 1. The work included widening of road and construction footpaths. Besides, the widening work of the road from Alpana intersection to Platform No 5 is also under way.
Most of the removed encroachments were small kiosks and handcarts. BMC anti-encroachment cell in-charge N C Saxena and BMC Revenue Officer Pradeep Verma led the team.
