ENTRANCE EXAMINATION for computer animation and tourism-related professional courses is being conducted by the DSWY Academy
of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare of the State Government on January 14.
Over 8,000 youths from the State are expected to appear for examination. Examination centres have been made at district headquarter-level. Motilal Vigyan Mahavidhyalaya near old Vidhan Sabha and Sarojini Naidu Girls PG College, Shivaji Nagar, have been made examination centres in Bhopal.
The training programme for the courses will begin from February and successful students would be ensured jobs with good remuneration. Moreover, job opportunities would be made available to successful students through campus placement also. The students would be enrolled in the courses on the basis of the merit list of the entrance examination, an official release said.
The DSWY Academy has been formed to provide high-level training to students in the field of computer animation and tourism-related courses. The academy will provide training in travel and tourism management diploma and travel and tourism management integrated diploma courses in the field of tourism. Similarly, training in 3D animation diploma and 3D animation post-graduate diploma courses in the field of computer animation would be provided by the academy.
The academy has made a provision of 100 seats in each four courses and youths who are domicile resident of the State can only appear for the examination.
Further, a provision has been made for scholarship by the academy. Five sportspersons and five students from the Schedule Caste in each course will be provided scholarship apart from the monthly scholarship subsidy to 25 students in these courses.
The courses will be conducted in the indoor hall of the Tatya Tope stadium in the initial stage. Fee of Rs 3,000 per month has been fixed for four-month diploma course in travel and tourism and for one-year diploma in travel and tourism management integrated course whereas fee of Rs 10,000 per month for one-year 3D animation course (total Rs 1.20 lakh) and for six months post-graduate diploma (Rs 60,000) has been fixed.
In pursuance of the announcement of Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the State Government has tied up with the Kuoani Travel Group of Switzerland and the Data Quest International organisation in the field of tourism and computer animation education, respectively.
