AUTHORITIES OF the Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) are not finding evaluators who could check the answer books of environmental studies. The paper  was introduced by the university at the graduate-level two years back. The examinees  have to clear the paper within two years.

Though the  new subject was introduced, there were no lecturers  to teach the subject at degree colleges. Despite  the best efforts made by the college management, suitable teachers could not be found. The subject was taught in a very disorganised manner. At some colleges, the students were advised to consult books or the ‘made- easy’ notes available in the market. These notes and books were prepared according to the question pattern fixed  by the university.

After some times, the university changed the pattern and  asked objective type questions. Consequently, the available books and notes could not help the students.

The question paper contained more questions based on general awareness putting the examinees in a great trouble. Now, the main problem before the university is  as how to get an examinee who has the vast knowledge of  all the subjects.

In the absence of such an examiner, the answer books could not be evaluated  properly.  Some evaluators felt that it would not be possible to get an expert environmentalist for evaluating the answer books but in case the university  provided standard  solutions to the questions, any examiner would be able to evaluate the answer books.
