Erratic power continues to affect water supply

india Updated: Oct 13, 2006 17:02 IST

WATER SUPPLY in some parts of the City was affected on Thursday morning following erratic power supply at Shyamla Hills Filtration Plant and Kolar Filtration Plant.

Power cut during morning water supply at Shyamla Hills Filtration Plant affected water supply in some areas including Shastri Nagar, North TT Nagar, Professors’ Colony and adjoining areas.

Water pumping was also affected on Thursday morning at Kolar Filtration Plant due to power change over. Pumping was closed for some time at Kolar as the power connection was switched over from MANIT feeder to Mandideep feeder.

The feeder change over was carried out a couple of days back for electricity repair works. One power cut at Kolar results in delay in pumping for two hours due to technical reasons. Water supply was, thus, affected in MP Nagar, Ashoka Garden, Ashok Vihar, Indrapuri, Sonagiri, Jehangirabad etc.

On Friday evening Shahid Nagar, Sajida Nagar, Ashok Colony, Noormahal, Imami Gate, Bright Colony, Khanugaon, Housing Board Colony Koh-e-Fiza etc will be affected.

Water supply will also be affected on Saturday morning in the areas including Idgah Hills, Shahejahanabad, Prabhu Nagar, Tila Jamalpura, Kabitpura, Gufa Mandir, Neori Mandir Colony, Bright Colony, Nilkanth Nagar, Ahmedabad, Koh-e-Fiza, Lalghati, Vijay Nagar, Nayapura, Regiment Road, Koyalewali Gali, Model Ground, Taj Colony, Sharma Colony, Ram Nagar, Police Line Shahejahanabad and 56 Quarters.
