Despite mounting pressure for implementing regular admissions for 11th standard along with online admissions, Maharashtra Government is firm on having online procedure as the only way forward.
“The Government is firm on online admissions and the system is ready to ensure smooth admission procedure sans hassles as apprehended by those opposing online admissions,” sources in School Education Department told PTI in Mumbai.
Scotching speculation from the anti-online admission groups that the computer servers may fail as they would not be able to handle the load of thousands of students applying simultaneously, the sources said “equipment was in place to ensure smooth online process”.
“The Government is going to conduct a mock admission process on Sunday when at least 10,000 students would log on to the website created for the junior college admissions,” the sources said.
“The mock admissions would give an idea about the functioning of the servers,” they added.
Asked about the forms to be filled up by the students online, they said “the entire information about the students has already been filled up by the Government on the servers”.
“The students seeking admission to junior colleges just have to enter their exam seat number and remaining information would be automatically appear,” the sources said.
