Ex-Cong MLA Kale passes away

Former Congress MLA Amrutrao Kale passed away due to old age, family sources said on Saturday. Kale got elected from the Devlali Assembly Constituency on Congress ticket between 1963-67.

Former Congress MLA Amrutrao Kale passed away due to old age, family sources said on Saturday.

He was 85 and passed away on Friday night, they said. Kale got elected from the Devlali Assembly Constituency on Congress ticket between 1963-67.

The leader, who is also a freedom fighter, had participated in the city's Kala Ram temple Satyagraha headed by late Dr B R Ambedkar. The leader also worked as a member of Nashik Municipal Council's educational board.

Maharashtra Minister of State for Health Shobhav Bacchav and other Congress leaders paid tributes to Kale.
