Amit Palekar, who withdrew as the lawyer of former Goa Tourism Minister Francisco Pacheco, will continue representing his close aide Lyndon Monteiro, another accused in the case relating to the death of Pacheco's friend Nadia Torrado.
"Palekar and senior advocate Surendra Desai will represent me in my anticipatory bail petition which will come for hearing before the Supreme Court," Monteiro told PTI on Friday.
"Palekar will also fight my case when the chargesheeted is filed", he said.
Palekar had announced his decision to withdraw as Pacheco's lawyer yesterday. South Goa-based lawyer Anacleto Viegas is now representing the NCP legislator in the court.
According to sources, Palekar withdrew from the case after he was booed by Pacheco's supporters outside the Goa bench of the Bombay High court.
