Ex-VIVA singer going places

For all those who think reality TV stars are history, then you are mistaken. Some are up there and per forming to the mark. Ask ex-Viva singer Anushka Manchanda. The 22-year-old Delhiite has a lot on her platter.
“I’ve a couple of performances lined up in Delhi and Mumbai. I have also signed to sing for Irrfan Khan-starrer Dubai Return and am also working on my solo album in Hindi.” So far, the going has been great for the Diva. She takes on life as it comes. “I never believe in planning things,” she adds.
Her first album VIVA was not a cakewalk for her as it was in Hindi. But things have changed now. “Hindi is not that tough but I still find it easier to write in English. I enjoyed singing for films like Golmaal and Zindaggi Rocks.” But what inspires her the most is English rock music.

“There is not much money in rock. I want to do it for my own happiness and satisfaction,” says the singer, who calls herself a drama queen and would not shy away from dancing and singing around the trees like a typical Hindi film heroine.
She has had her own twists and turns with destiny. Four years ago, her family had planned to immigrate to the US. “But my dog bit me on my face and everyone suggested me to stay back in India,” she says. Still in school, this Amity student decided to take her board exams.
And then the Channel V contest happened. “My friends advised me to participate and the rest is history,” she says.
