DISTRICT EXCISE Department has asked Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) to submit details of its income and expenditure including the admission rates it charged on the tickets for the India-England one day international cricket match played at Usha Raje Stadium yesterday. It has also asked the Association to produce documentary evidence if it has obtained rebate or exemption on paying entertainment tax from State Government.

Asking the MPCA to deposit the entertainment tax within seven days, the notice served by the Department has told the cricket body that entertainment tax would constitute 50 per cent of total collections received as entry fee.

Assistant Excise Commissioner Nawal Singh Jamod told this newspaper that in case the cricket body fails to respond, the Department would undertake suo moto assessment of the ODI income and expenditure or hold parleys with MPCA office-bearers to expedite the recovery process.
