A 70-year-old woman was killed and six others injured in a series of cracker explosions at a house in Dankore area on Saturday.
The impact of the explosion was such that the roof and walls of the house were blown to pieces, due to which family members got buried under the debris and suffered burn injuries.
Two of the injured were taken to a Delhi hospital owing to the seriousness of their injuries.
“Among the injured, Bismillah, mother of Islammudin Ahmed (owner of the small-scale factory), died in the afternoon while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
“A case has been registered under the Explosives Act against Islammudin. Though he had a licence and this was his ancestral profession, he had not got the licence renewed this year. He had also not followed safety norms,” said Ambesh Tyagi, Deputy Superintendent of Police.
