Explosives found in bus in Meghalaya

Acting on a tip-off, BSF today searched a bus plying between Bholaganj and Shillong at Icchamati, about 2.5 km from the border, and found five packets of 'plastic explosives' and nine detonators.

BSF on Thursday seized explosives from a bus near the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya.

Acting on a tip-off, BSF personnel searched a bus plying between Bholaganj and Shillong at Icchamati, about 2.5 km from the border, and found five packets of 'plastic explosives' and nine detonators.

A BSF official said such 'plastic explosives' are not easily available and it is not used in the coal mines.

The explosives have been sent for laboratory tests and no arrest has been made so far.
