Extradited gangster Babloo Srivastava was today produced before the special TADA court here in connection with a 15-year-old kidnapping case and was sent to police custody for four days.
The UP gangster, once a member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, is accused of conspiring to kidnap city-based real estate developer Vishwanath Mittal, owner of Mittal builders.
Babloo who was lodged in the Bareilly jail was brought to Mumbai today after the TADA court had issued a production warrant against him earlier in March.
He was produced before the TADA court in February but was sent back to the Uttar Pradesh jail after the D N Nagar police failed to produce the documents pertaining to the 1994 case.
Babloo, extradited from Singapore in 1995, was booked under the now lapsed anti-terror act TADA in the case, in which five others were also named accused.
One of them, Sanjay Khanna, has been declared an absconder, while another person Amit died before the trial started.
Three others have been acquitted.
Babloo is facing trial in several criminal cases registered against him in Delhi, Lucknow and Kanpur.
