We were disappointed with the washout against the Royal Challengers, but the mood is fine. What we were guarding against was a lottery game of five overs each. When it rained, forcing the abandonment, we were relaxed.
It is the right time to talk about one of the positives for us. Faf du Plessis has been an excellent replacement and has filled in the role that Mike Hussey would have done for us as an opener.
We had planned that we would push Faf up the order once we realised that Mike would not be available. He is in form and has the skills. He grabbed the chance with both hands and has been a find for us.
When Mike returns after the West Indies tour, we will, for the first time, have a problem of plenty. It would be interesting to see how we find roles for the overseas players.
We have adopted a policy of being honest with our group and the players understand that it is the overseas player rule that has kept them out.
But this certainly doesn't mean that we'd have an additional overseas player in every line-up. The seven-four combination is fine. Remember, this is about Indian players moving forward, and hence it is the IPL.
