A child had to pass through a part of the jungle in the evening to attend his school function. He was afraid and requested his poor mother, who earned her living by stitching clothes, to arrange an escort. She suggested that his brother Kanhaiya (Lord Krishna) lived in the jungle and would appear when called for.
The child with full faith and belief requested Kanhaiya for help while crossing the jungle in fading light. The Lord appeared with a smile and offered His finger to the child to hold. On the way, the child said he had no donation to make like other children. Kanhaiya gave him a small pot of milk to offer at the school, which he did.
After a while, a kitchen man ran to the principal in awe telling that all utensils in the kitchen are filled with milk and the pot is not empty yet. On being asked by the principal, the child told everything about Kanahiya, who was waiting outside for him.
Everybody ran outside to see the Lord who could not be seen by anyone except the child himself. On the principal’s request, Kanhaiya replied through the child that they were not yet qualified to see Him.
In another instance, a simple man repeatedly asked a pundit about God who was not eating his food. The man believed the pundit fully and prepared food everyday for the Lord. When God did not eat, he also did not eat and slept hungry. He carried this practice for many days till he was weak enough not to do anything. The man told God sincerely that he will die hungry if He did not eat. And just then the Lord appeared. He ate food and put some morsels in the man’s mouth till he was full.
Such is the power of faith and belief which is not found in common man. Instead, he takes to a longer path by joining an academy or a religious sect and takes to various yoga and meditation systems. Faith and surrender to Guru/God can produce fast and sure results.
