india Updated: Aug 23, 2009 16:55 IST

Petroleum Minister, Murli Deora, on Sunday awarded Bharat Petroleum petrol pumps to the families of two martyrs of Mumbai terror attacks.

The petrol pumps were given by Deora to the families of Mumbai Police Sub Inspector, Bapurao Durgude and Assistant Sub Inspector, Balasaheb Bhosle, who sacrificed their lives during the terrorist attack in Mumbai on November 26 last year, at a function held in Mumbai.

The Government had announced allotment of petrol pump and CNG outlet dealerships to the families of those Police and NSG personnel who fell in line of duty in 26/11 terrorist attack on the financial capital, besides setting up an education fund for their children.

The families included NSG commando, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Gajendra Singh, ATS chief, Hemant Karkare among others.

The Government had awarded the dealership papers to the families of 18 martyrs of the Mumbai terror attack.

However, father of NSG commando, Major Unnikrishnan, has not accepted the dealership.
