In a daring daylight robbery, five men barged into a house in New Delhi on Monday and looted jewellery and cash worth Rs 3,50,000, police said.
According estimates of Ashok Paliwal, a businessman whose house in east Nizamuddin area of south Delhi was robbed, the gang took away Rs 50,000 in cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 3,00,000, police said.
Paliwal was not at home when the incident took place. His wife Preeti and their two children were at home when the robbery occured, a police official said.
"The robbers placed a gun on the head of one of the children and robbed the house," said Deputy Commissioner Of Police Anil Shukla.
He added that Preeti had recognised one of the robbers as Rahul, a carpenter who had worked at the house a few days ago.
"We have managed to get details about Rahul and we would be able to nab all the five men very soon," said Shukla.
