Upset over the non cooperation of Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital where Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh is battling for life, members of his family, led by elder sister Dalbir Kaur, will be returning to India through Attari Border on Wednesday morning.

Although the Sarabjit's family was likely to return home on Tuesday but they suddenly posptponed their plan by a day.

As soon as unconfirmed reports travelled on Indian side of the border that Sarabjit was ‘brain dead’, Sarabjit's lawyer Awais Sheikh informed that the family will be reaching India.

Talking to HT over the phone from Lahore, Dalbir Kaur, who seemed very upset, said, “Condition of my brother is not fine. He is very critical and I am very much convinced that Pakistani Authorities are hiding things from us.”

I appeal to the Indian government to send a panel of doctors fromm India to treat him, she added.

On a question that there were unconfirmed reports that Sarabjit was ‘brain dead’, She said, “Doctors are not telling us anything. People in the hospital talk very roughly. I asked them that why surgery has not been performed, they told we cannot tell.”

“I repeatedly asked them whether he was hit by a sharp-edged thing on my his head, they also did not respond to this. They do not cooperate. They must look into the situation seriously and give best treatment.”

She was also very upset over the fact that Pakistan has rejected Indian appeal to leave Sarabjit on humanitarian grounds.
