Farmers of about a dozen villages under the banner of Noida Kisan Sangarsh Samiti held a panchayat at Agahpur village to motivate more and more villages to move court against land acquisition.

Noida Chairman Balwindar Kumar also continued his visits to villages to pacify farmers. On Wednesday, he went to Sadarpur and other villages and promised developed land plots and solution to abadi land disputes.

But farmers said they also wanted hike in compensation already paid for the land acquired.

At Agahpur, leaders from all political parties were also present. Bhopa Mukhiya, who chaired the panchayat, said farmers did not fear police action and would not end their agitation till their demands were met.

Farmers alleged that officers of the authority were provoking them to resort to violence by deploying police forces at peaceful panchayat sites.
