In a story of friendship spanning the seas that could be the stuff of movies, Jafferali, a young Indian boy was so depressed after his friend left for the UAE that he died of a heart attack the very next day.

And Santosh his friend, was so shocked by the news that he committed suicide too.

The news of Jafferali's death back home in Kerala proved too harsh for his friend of many years, 27-year-old Santosh, who committed suicide at his apartment in Sharjah, the Khaleej Times reported.

Santosh, who had left India for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in search of a job, was found hanging from the ceiling on Monday evening. His relatives said Santosh had arrived in the UAE only last week.

"He was very sad to leave his best friend Jafferali. They were working together in a footwear shop for the last nine years. When Santosh departed from Kerala, Jafferali was very upset. On Saturday, Jafferali died after a cardiac arrest," said a relative.

"Santosh was informed about the death by another friend in India. He insisted that he wanted to return to India to attend the funeral. He was very upset and was under tremendous stress," the relative added.

Santosh got married only last year and was expecting his first child soon.
