Following the complications of high blood pressure, dizziness, gastric pain, the 40-year-old man, whose 12-year-old school going daughter was raped by an elderly man has been hospitalised at a private nursing home on Thursday.

Dr. Ranjit Kaur, the doctor at Ratia hospital said, "The patient has severe depression and we have asked him to undergo some tests".

Talking to media persons, the girl's father said. "I am being sidelined and warned of serious consequences for raising my voice against the rape accused and those who tried to settle the rape incident amicably".

He said, "Several members of panchayat tried to hush up the matter by using unfair means. Village sarpanchs are threatening me for life".

He also rued that he had not been given any police security.

Refuting the allegation, Fatehabad SP Vikas Dhankhar said, "No one from rape victim family has ever approached us for any police security".

The victim's father charged the Khai village Sarpanch Jai Singh and others for trying to settle the issue in village panchayat for a sum of few thousand rupees which he denied and approached police.

On his complaint, police arrested Sohan Lal, a fruit seller, who took the 12-year-old girl to agricultural fields and raped her.

The victim and her two other sisters students of 6th and 7th class respectively were expelled from Khai village government school. When victim's father protested, they (victim and her sisters) were admitted to another government school.
